Survived and Punished NY has learned from incarcerated people that the Bedford Correctional Facility is denying food to them in the midst of a pandemic. Demand that people have immediate access to food and tell Gov. Cuomo to #FreeThemAll and grant clemencies to save lives.

Governor Cuomo
Call: 518-474-8390
Acting DOCCS Commissioner Anthony Annucci
Call: (518) 457-8134
I am calling because I have been made aware of appalling conditions at a number of state prisons across New York, including 21+-hour lockdown, denials of meals, and atrocious care of those infected with COVID-19 at Bedford Hills, abusive working conditions at Albion, and retaliations against those wearing protective equipment at Taconic. **Prisons were a crisis before the pandemic began, and you must use your powers to free everyone immediately.**
While you work to release everyone, I demand that you
- Allow people freedom of movement
- Provide adequate PPE and cleaning supplies to all for free
- Keep commissary stocked without price gouging
- Provide non-coercive, non-abusive testing and treatment for free, and
- Provide full medical policy transparency
- Provide free complete meals to all
Acting Superintendent, Bedford Hills – Amy Lamanna
Call: 914-241-3100 ext. 2000
I am calling because I have been made aware of appalling conditions at Bedford Hills Prison, where you have overseen a weeks-long 21+-hour lockdown and denied those incarcerated at your prison access to basic necessities including: food, personal protective equipment, and comprehensive medical care. Those who have tested positive for COVID-19 have been denied communication with loved ones outside of the facility, given little to no information on how to heal from the virus, and faced medical abuse and neglect from your staff. Prisons were a public health crisis before this pandemic began, a reality only made worse as your policies threaten the safety and wellbeing of those incarcerated at your prison.
While you work to release everyone, I demand that you:
- Allow people freedom of movement
- Provide adequate PPE and cleaning supplies to all for free
- Keep commissary stocked without price gouging

While you work to release everyone, I call on you to meet the other demands of people in prisons across New York State:

- Provide full and free access to laundry, phones, tablets, package room, commissary, soap, sanitizer, hygiene products, hot water, mail, and video visits. NO price gouging or garnishing commissary
- Provide full medical policy transparency, accurate information to incarcerated people about COVID-19 and prevention. Non-coercive testing and treatment, NO retaliation or abuse for those who test positive for the virus.
